Thou I am free and belong to
no man, I make myself a slave to everyone, to win as many as possible.
I do all this for the sake of the gospel that I may share in its blessings. –

Missions …..Each One, Reach One!
Brazil Missions
Career missionaries Pastor Keith and Deborah Jefferson in Salvador
Bahia, Brazil, are serving God “where the rubber meets the
road”. Traveling hundreds of miles weekly on rough dirt roads
to locate Quilombola villages, their heart’s cry is to see
this unreached people group come to know the Lord, Jesus. Quiomobolla
literally means "hut dweller" in Portuguese.
The Quilombollas, an unreached people group, are descendants of enslaved Africans who
escaped to the mountains and forests to avoid slavery by the Portuguese.
As a result of being isolated several hundreds of years, less than
1% have heard the name "Jesus."
Missionaries Keith and Deborah have been in Brazil for more than 10 years
and are serving with the International Mission Board. They are parents
of four beautiful daugthers, Joy, Kebra, Morgan and Christa. Their strategy
is to partner American churches with Brazilian churches to locate, befriend,
evangelize and disciple the more than 800 villages thought to be in Brazil.
SMZBT in 2005 entered a partnership to adopt and evangelize a Quilombolla
village. Our continuing missions in Brazil will involve partnering with
the Jefferson’s and a Brazilian church to befriend the Quilombollas
and witness to them about Jesus.
