First Lady's Biography
First Lady Mona´ Barber.
First Lady Mona´ Barber, a native
of Long Island, New York, is the
wife of Dr. Jerome A. Barber and
is the first lady of Sixth Mount
Zion Baptist Temple in Hampton,
Va.
Lady Mona´ accepted the Lord at
an early age and enjoyed serving
God’s people as a youth leader and
youth missionary. She holds a Bachelor
of Arts Degree in Communications
and has over 10 years of electronic
publishing and information technology
experience with companies such as
Times Mirror and the Chicago Tribune.
The Lord blessed her to retire early
to care for her mother and to be
an advocate for her son.
First Lady Barber strives to be
an example of a virtuous woman --
a woman who is yielded to God in
every area of her life. Lady Mona´
humbly serves as a women’s ministry
leader and her husband’s helpmate,
as she raises two children, Aija
and Abraham; ministers to five adult
children and loves five precious
grandchildren. The Lord has given
her a passion for children and she
enjoys the extra special blessing
of being a mother to a son with
Down Syndrome.
Lady Mona´ continues to aim toward
and produce excellence in all of
her ministry opportunities. She
has a heart for people and is a
committed prayer warrior.
