Celebrating 10 years of Missions in Uganda, Kenya,
Brazil and Haiti
"Thou I am free and belong
to no man, I make myself a slave to
everyone, to win as many as possible.
I do all this for the sake of the
gospel that I may share in its blessings."
– I Corinthians
9:19,23
On June 21, 2010, Pastor Jerome and First Lady Mona Barber led a team of 35 Missionaries which included 8 youth, 2 Pastors and a host of Teachers and Medical Professional to Nairobi and Uganda in Africa.
This was the largest team from SMZBT that has ever been on the mission field.
The first stop was Kangame where the team visited the The Harvest Fellowship Center, the church of Bishop Philemon Wachara. The church hosted an awesome Youth Explosion Celebration where our 8 youth took part ministering in dance.
The Teaches did teacher workshops at the Grace Academy School as well as arts and crafts with the children.
The visit ended with a Sunday Service Celebration where Pastor Barber preached a powerful series message entitled “It’s not your Size, It’s your Source”.
The next stop was in Kampala Uganda. During this visit, there were several medical clinics that were set up on the grounds of The Kasanga Miracle Center. This is the church of Pastor Isaac Kiwewisi. The medical clinics consisted of a children’s clinic, an adult clinic, an optical clinic and a pharmacy. During the function of these clinics almost 2000 people were treated. 50 people received Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
The visit in Uganda was ended by a series of visits to various Orphanages and a visit to an Aids Clinic.
Pastor Barber, Pastor Howard Heard from Emmanuel Baptist Church and Pastor Reginald Woodhouse from First Baptist Jefferson Park have been preaching non-stop at various churches and venues spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
The mission trip was a great success and the people of Nairobi and Uganda made us feel most welcome.
