The Mission
Our mission is to serve God by EQUIPPING the members of SMZBT to be
strong disciples of God with a passion to win souls for Christ. To EXALT our Savior in worship and lifestyle, to EQUIP the saints to do
the work of the ministry, and to EVANGELIZE and EXTEND the love of Christ both here and abroad.
The Vision
Our vision is to glorify God by providing opportunities for our church and community to lead the world into worship of the One True God,
Jesus Christ.
Our missions begin each year in parts of Africa then Brazil. With lots
of prayer and a heart to serve God, we will EVANGELIZE the world. Here
are our mission strategies for Kenya and Brazil.

Vicki Yohe Ministries

Vicki Yohe Missions Benefit Concert
Aside from the many services that Vicki ministers in every year, she makes
time for missions work in her ministry through travels in various parts
of Africa, Europe, and Asia. At our 2007 Resurrection Sunday Service held
in the Hampton Coliseum, Vicki shared her personal testimony that included
how Vicki Yohe Ministries has opened NEW DESTINY for CHILDREN a Christ-centered "safe
place" in Jinja, Uganda East Africa for children orphaned as a result
of war and the AIDS epidemic.
As a mission-minded, mission-driven church, her passion for missions connected
with the Temple family immediately. Vicki returned to SMZBT in May for
a benefit concert. All she asked for was a donation for African American
doll babies for her girls in the orphanage. Over 700 dolls were collected
as well as monetary donations to bless the children. These dolls will also
be donated to area orphanages as well. It was worship experience and the
presence of God filled the Temple as Vicki along with her sister sang to
God’s glory.
Pastor Barber Leads Team to Kenya in the Summer of 2007
The Tidewater-Peninsula Baptist Association is hosting a mission to Kenya
in the summer of 2007 in an effort to mobilize all partner churches to
take the Gospel to “ends of the earth.” Pastor Barber will
lead a team of 50 men and women who will minister in three areas in Kenya.
During that time, Pastor Barber will along with other pastors from the
United States will partner with Kenyan pastors in providing educational
opportunities through conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Please pray for their resources, unity, focus, and safety. Most of all
pray when they open their mouths words would be given them so they will
fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel (Eph.6:19)
Bishop Philemon Studying in the USA
We praise God for the opportunity He has given Bishop Philemon Wachara
to study in the US. Pray for protection for his family in Kenya (Mama Jane,
Julie, Wonder, Carrie, Philemon, Jr) and the extended family. Pray for
resources, comfort and increasing faith as they make the necessary sacrifices
to pursue this God given opportunity.
