Who do I contact when a member has death in the family?
Call the church office to let us know about the death of someone in your family. The receptionist will gather the initial information from you and give it to our Administrative Assistant for Pastoral Care Reverend Harvey Cook. He will contact you or a person from our ministerial team will contact you as soon as possible.

What if the death occurs after normal church hours or on a holiday?
You may leave a detail message on our 24-hour Emergency number 757-951-7434 which is checked daily by one of our ministers.

I need the church's assistance as I go through a close family member's illness or death. Who do I contact at Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple?
Pastoral care and spiritual counseling for Sixth Mount Zion Baptist members is the responsibility of the Administrative Assistant for Pastoral Care. Call the Church at 757-896-6050 to set an appointment. They will give your situation the priority it deserves.

How can my personal request be placed on the weekly prayer list?
You may submit your prayer request to us at www.smzbt.org or to be placed on or removed from the sick and shut-in list, bereavement and/or special circumstances lists, please leave us a detail message on our church line (757-896-6050 Ext. 302).
